the legality of motorbikes in caliofornia

hi im larry and new to this site i was wondering whether these bikes are legal to operate on town streets? i go to the community college here and it would be very helpfull if i could ride mine to school,however i have yet to do so for the legal reasons of it . any help would be greatly appreciated thank you
