To @Deleted Member 4613 I know I'm really late to this party, but maybe some info might be valuable.
I think there's a bit of confusion on 1 crucial cog. Output is 10t not 11t. If I read the calculations wrong then I apologize.
I ride a 53cc ebay clone on a yard sale MTB. I swapped out the carb for a Dellorto clone, (found an easy little intake mani @ gasbike.net). I also ran a bit of flex tubing (bigrig heater) and heat wrapped it with a little pitbike muffler. Hub adapter and a 36t. Riding bout a year, top speed (GPS, Cycle Droid App) 38mph. I don't recall but I suspect it was downhill with a tow truck and a tailwind. LOL
I absolutely love this little 4 stroke. Great mileage with no mix to buy. (REALLY adds to fuel cost, miles per dollar vs miles per gallon.). Reliable, left me stranded 1x, fuel line rubbed thru on the back tire, operator error! I had the same motor on a beauty Electra Cruiser, sadly the aluminum frame cracked and ended up on this MTB. Everything else about this MTB I don't like. Balance isn't right for me, frame is too small (I'm 6'4").
Just finishing off a Diamondback Cruiser, 49cc HS from gasbike.net, dual chain gearbox from Bike berry. Went different on the carb, used a15mm no float bowl carb like comes on little 2 stroke 50cc go karts and such. That carb kicks ass! Hard to adapt, a little, but definitely worth it. Air/fuel adj on the fly! Believe it or not, currently runs the stock little muffler exhaust. She's quick, but haven't pushed pay 30 yet. I think the limiter might be set a little lower on this HS. I'll know more after break-in.
Any way. Last comment. You wondered about torque with a carb switch? If you could get gas and air to flow they an hour glass you'd still be doin better than the stocker. I HATE that carb!
So, if I'm to late to the party, sorry. Hit me back if you want pics.
BTW, MTB is for sale! Probably pretty cheap. SoCal area.
