Top speed?

Wym by tuning controller parameters? I can make battery packs I have a spot welder and longevity isn't a concern of mine. The laws are loose here and I ride twenty miles everyday to work. I currently have two 48v 13ah packs. I top out at 40mph downhill and 32 and flat ground. If I could go just a little faster to keep up with traffic would be ideal. But of course I realize a little faster is never gonna satisfy me but thats a topic for another day.
If you want just a little bit faster, two motors would do that. Maybe another 4 or 5 mph top speed.

Just what is required to go highway or at least secondary road speeds? First, the posted speed limits are just suggested minimums by most users so on a 50 mph road most are booking over 60, many going a lot faster than that.

Tires and wheels that are speed rated, a frame with geometry designed for higher speed, then comes the subject of brakes. Higher speeds need more braking force.

Sorry to be a buzz kill but to make a bicycle that can go those speeds is asking for it. That is what motorcycles are designed for.
You don't need a 1000 cc Ducati v4 that will book 180 mph, a decent 250 or 350 is good enough to go 65-70 mph once and a while depending on the gearing. Not the most pleasant ride but safe enough.

Here in SW Florida Flat lands, I have been to 50mph on the Gator Whizzer...40 on Risky's ride and 40 on the Motoped. All too fast for my comfort level on bike frames....With the Heavier Ambassador Frame (but still weak wheels) not sure if I will feel safer or not. Seems to me the tires are my biggest concern at that speed. A blowout front or rear I think will be Catostorphic.
You should probably upgrade Wheels on you Ambassador

The Ambassador takes 26" x 3" tire you should be fine at speeds of 45 - 50 mph

For piece of mind get Tannus Armour, besides flat protection it's a Run Flat
Don't run tires that are over 4 years old and change the tubes every 2 years

What phase amps are you running at 32mph? Is it the battey, controller or motor stopping you from going higher? Sounds like you're getting the 1500 watts, but for short bursts or if statorade is used you can get more. Endless sphere is going to be more help on the specifics of programming controllers.

My stock YD100 (only the inside tube of the muffler cut out) with 44T sprocket on 26inch tires hit 80km/h down a long hill. It shook my balls apart because of the vibrations. It can happily cruise up a slight incline at 40km/h and down a flat road about 60km/h.

55km/h all the time is great.

Just do it with one motor and one controller. No synchronizing problems and no throttle problems. Size the sprockets according to the top speed you want.

Going more than maybe 25-30 mph on a BICYCLE - motorized or not - is definitely not the best idea you've ever had.

If you build a safe M/B then you'll enjoy going 40 - 50 mph with no fear of failure
