Torquing head bolts question

Torquing the Whizzer

Hi well I watched this post go to all kinds of extremes from just guessing to going to some unusual extremes. Some had good ideas, but some were taking unnecessary risks. After years of working on engines, I can sometimes do a good job by hand, BUT I could never reccomend that anyone else tries it.

Well here you go, I am currently using a set of very long, ball-end metic allen wrenches. I remove the tank, and I'm able, most times, to get to all the bolts without loosening the engine from it's mounts. I have found that I can do a complete top-end in frame if I wish.

ALWAYS be careful when torquing aluminum, because, even cold, you can cross-thread, or strip threads more easily than I have ever wished were possible.
