What you have there is essentially the basis for a single freewheel shift kit.
If there's a second freewheel on the engine secondary sprocket this is the same principle a Staton Inc double freewheel shift kit works on. Unlike a single freewheel shift kit the engine drive chain doesn't move when only the pedals are being used.
