Triggering Street Lights

I'd hate to spread any misinformation but i've found that I don't need anything special to turn lights green. I ride a lot at night so naturally I would be screwed if I got to any red lights that refused to turn green. All I do is pull up with my front tire in between the front stop line and the parallel crosswalk line, light goes to yellow immediately if theres no cars coming in the opposite direction and I get a green light. I'd say it works about 95% of the time, some lights don't seem to do anything. No idea which type of sensor Tucson uses around the streets though.

But the instructables video at the beginning of this thread is a bit nicer.

I might have to try this soon, as no light seems to pick up my bike.
