I am fairly new here and have been browsing through all the threads and can't seem to find anyone who has done what I have in mind. I have a Miami Sun trike that I want to put an engine on. I was thinking of using a 3 or 5 horse Briggs and setting it up just like a Go-kart with a centrifugal clutch, and run a chain and sprocket to the axle, alongside the human power sprocket. Only forseeable problem is that I might have to cut the rear supports and fab up some new ones to accomodate ther larger size sprocket needed. I have seen some pretty complex set-ups here for trikes, is there something I am missing. Thanks for any help or suggestions!
