Thanks for the quick response guys.......... AZ ? I pretty much don't have a clue what " hollow hubs " are but, a good question for me to find the answer. Chain? Thank you. this one seems to be the Holy Grail I was looking for.
hollow hub trike wheels mount on an axle instead of having an internal axle like a bicycle wheel
the axle has a flange with 3 unthreaded studs that go thru 3 holes in the hub of the wheel to drive the wheel
most trikes (with a center of the axle sprocket) transfer power to the wheel in this manner

ps...I have found that it is best to upgrade the bearings on hollow-hubs as they are designed for pedalling and don't hold up to the speeds and abuse that engines generate
