Hi,

Finally getting around to lighting off a cheapy chinese kit here. I seem to have no spark. Coil/magneto seems to ohm out ok, cdi showed 7.2k ohms between the black wire and plug cap. Plug wire seems good, upgraded from the crappy wire that came with the bike, plug is a NGK b6hs. Connections are soldered, though I DONT have the kill switch wired in.....but I don't think that should prevent spark, as I understand thing. I'm not exactly frustrated yet, but I am open to ideas!! Thanks in advance!

the crappy wire that comes with kit is probably the best for the job - if you replaced with the wire they use in cars, it may never work - same with plug cap - resistance wires and caps are not your friends at cranking speed

I can second Crassius's answer. I know from experience that having an upgraded CDI wire and plug cap can prevent start. When i did it it gave me a weak spark. Though spark was present it wasn't enough to start the bike.
