What are your thoughts or suggestions on adding a small cheap ebay turbo on a 212 predator, seen people do it for mini bikes and carts but not a bicycle. Not planning on doing it unless it has some amazing advantages.

These torbo's are generally added if you plan on racing. Since you'd be happy with a level ground speed of 45 mph, a turbo would be just something else to have to fine tune. Going beyond 45 mph on a bicycle frame with a large torque engine just becomes down right dangerous.

I'm looking on people thoughts as to the increase in power because I do some races with friends every now and then, and turbo for me though is a long shot. Just looking for opinions on the cheap ebay turbo it's self if anybody has had or used one before

The problem with trying to race is you're going to have to replace several internal engine parts with high performance parts. Otherwise, you'll could blow up your engine.

Have you ever ridden a built 212 or 224?

I built my 224 with a mildly hot cam, billet rod and flywheel and VM22 carb.

With a Juggernaut CVT it is VERY spunky to the point I worry about snapping the frame or ripping spokes out, Probably 17hp.

You can also go crazy on the cam and run alcohol.

A turbo is a waste of money IMHO.

I cant argue with "it would be cool" but unless you have deep pockets in more way than one (money, time and skills) it will be a pita, nightmare and a money pit that never runs. At the very least you will need a mini machine shop, oxyfuel/tig set up.

People like stationary engines (and motorized bikes) because the initial investment is relatively low. The big downside is that unless you keep it simple and stick with the best quality available, things become exponentially more difficult, and more expensive in all ways. (Time, money, energy, tools and skills.)

I'm no expert on turbos or predators but off the top of my head you will need:
-A suitably sized turbo.
-Either contract a fab shop to do it or weld up a custom exhaust yourself.
-Figure an oil pump for the turbo, whether it be a pulse pump or driven off the crank.
-Figure out the carb and jetting for the increased fuel requirements.
-figure draw through or pump through the carb.
-if you want higher rpm, a billet fly wheel, and stronger valve springs.

I'm not saying it cant be done. I'm not saying it shouldn't be done. I am not saying you can't do it. I am simply advising you to research this very well and determine if this is really what you want.

Could be that something different can do what you want easier and cheaper. Could be you can't die happy without a turbocharged 212.
