TypTohe's build

Hey all. Here goes my build, it's probably going to be slow as hell but for the most this is my first motorized bike build. Going to keep it as simple as possible ... I tend to over due things (please if someone catches me on it, STOP ME).

Day I got my engine. :D

this is when I got a bike. this bike was originally a friend of mines but he decided to give the bike to me since I would know how to fix what needed to be fixed and well ... cause I had an engine to put in it (we were both going to do builds of our own). This is just me mocking up the engine and seeing how things look before I start to repaint and swap out parts for performance parts.

As of now all I have really done to this bike is

- Swapped rear wheel for used one, new inner tube/rim rubber and freewheel sprocket
- Chopped down seat post (going to install a laid back seat post (need to buy) and cruiser saddle (already have))
- Taken gear shift off (don't need anymore)
- Shortened original chain to accommodate new rear wheel and sprocket (need to get spacers to get proper chain alignment)
- Bought new handle grips ... but now I need to redrill throttle bracket cause the grips are a little longer than the throttle... no biggie)

Not sure if this is a good enough shot but this is what I am talking about when I said i needed spacers for the rear wheel. If you look closely, you can somewhat see the crank sprocket on the ground and how the freewheel line up. It's VERY offset, I put the chain on to see how offset it was and it looked as if it will come off during mid crank. What sucks is that the axle on the rear wheel is short on one side and longer on the other and it's vice versa of the way i need it to be inorder to easily line up the sprockets (the photo was taken with my cell phone against the rear tire).

Find this odd. When i take the original chain the bike came, it doesnt fit the freewheel completely. I tried another chain (this is from a 16" bike), and it was fine. Anyone know why this chain is doing this?20140515_180211.jpg20140515_180156.jpg20140515_180139.jpg

Bought new grips yesterday when i went out to get the rim tape rubber. Got them on today, the throttle was hard but got it to fit and aligned ... strangely.

Lllllllaaaammeeeeee... being slow minded i put the two chains i have (the 26" stock with the 16" chain) side by side... 26 on the left, 16 on the right.

16 is like a baby bit wider than the 26 stock chain. Smh, works out in a way i guess, was going to swap for a two tone chain.

Side by side

In this one, the stock is in front, 16" is behind

Well i need a new chain. Looked at the chains and found out what model numbrrs they were. Although both are made by KMC, the model of the stock chain is a 3D, whereas the 16" is a 3C.
