Update...now it's a hybrid!

I posted this bike last year when it was all electric. Added gas but also wanted to keep the electric, and have it even more functional. Now has regenerative charging of the battery when running on gas, can run on gas, electric, pedal, or any combination. With both gas and electric I even have both front and rear wheel drive (only one rear wheel is driven). I really don't know if it would make it, but it should go pretty close to 55 or sixty. It turns 1560 rpm at 30 mph.

55 to 60? that's way too fast for a trike without tilt wheel turn capability. 36 mph is tops for my 39cc bike, but 20 is plenty.
I''m more about fuel efficiency & range. 2 whl drive is so cool for climbs. I just wanted a bike for long distance touring.
I can get 65 mi a liter on the flat & carry 4 liters. With 3 batteries,(2 in a light trailer), 55Ah gives me 120 mi range electric only.
With gas prices what they are, I can afford to go anywhere & still have money for fun.

In no way do I ride the trike that fast. When I hit 40, I'm gettin' real close to having to clean my drawers. Not to mention what would I do if one of those four wheelers pulled out in front of me. I've got a new front fork coming this weekend that will give me linear pull brakes. If that ain't enough, I'll replace it again and go to hydraulic disc.

As far as how fast I normally go, I try to be able to keep up with town traffic where the speed limit in most places here is only 30 mph. I ride the center of the street just like motorcycles. The local law has left me alone since I obey all traffic laws, use signals, etc.
