Upgrade 200watt Moped

Does anyone know if its possible to upgrade the hub motors in the street legal 200watt moped/bicycles that are sold in Australia to a off-road 500watt (or 2000watt like ive seen before) beast?

the easiest way to produce more power from a 200-watt hub motor is to raise the voltage. unsure if your controller can handle the extra power, but you will DEFINITELY feel the difference in torque. if/when your controller fries, buy another which can handle more voltage, maybe up to 72vdc.
a safe way would be to increase in 12volt increments, from 24v to 36v, for example. testride on flat ground to reduce strain, and pedalstart for 7 seconds, then turn on the power. if you're happy with 36v performance, no need to raise voltage. if you want more range, then wire up your next additional batteries in parallel for more ah(ampere/hours).
