Why does no one attach their engines to the bikes gearing system. I can't see a reason as to why other than making the engine work slightly harder. Assuming your on the flat I see no reason as to why you wouldn't use them, even in climbing applications.

I use a triple chainring shift kit to a 7 speed 34-13 freewheel. This gives me 9 human/engine driven sequential non redundant ratios

All shifting is done with the left hand.

Many others currently on here and many in past have used single chainring shift kits.
