I know this isn't probably the best place to ask but I know you guys will have the answer...Last night I put a new cam in my 125cc Honda Grom clone. put it all back together, spun it over by hand and no valve/piston contact but when I start it , I can hear the valve tappets not crazy loud but noticable. so my question is should I tighten them up so the ticking goes away all together? or just a little faint tap? before with stock cam I couldn't hear them at all. Thanks

You need to find out what the factory valves specs are & set your valve lash to factory specs.

Side note: If this is a performance camshaft you installed, you need to reach out to the camshaft manufacturer & see what valve lash specs they list.

As Diesel says, find the spec,
I have adjusted valve lash on old small blocks by ear while running, then backed off a teeny bit.

Not recommended.

I was told .003 intake and .004 exhaust from a guy on youtube that used the same cam. I asked TboltUsa where I bought the cam they said .003 intake and .003 exhaust, Havent tried Tbolt Specs yet, will later once out of school. I guess this question is more of a how much noise should I be hearing from the tappets?

Make sure you were on the correct revolution to adjust your valves. I would go .003" on the intake valve & .004" on the exhaust valve.
