And here's the short of it: go down a tooth or two on the front sprocket, replace the oil breather and stuff the fattest tires you can and its a mini adv bike. Not great in the sand dunes or on the trail but great for around town, backroads and gently riding gravel.
 
I like the price and simplicity of it, plus it's a Honda. Just the 150cc is a lil anemic I'm afraid. What is the max speed ya think, 55mph with the wind at your back? They quit making the DR200 I've often thought might be the smallest bike I'd consider.
 
He says 55mph reaslistic top speed with stock gearing, and a hypothetical 73mph in top gear and rev limit. Go down two teeth and hypothetical top and realistic top become much closer.

There are big bore kits from that boost the stock 150cc to 175 all the way up to 230cc. Not as cost effective as a sprocket swap, but cheaper than swapping the engine for one from a crf230, which is possible.
