Measure the distance and buy the right calipers. I don't remember Cranbrook off hand, I wanna say 118mm reach. I think I'm wrong though. Been a year since I bought them. Either way, get the tape measure out, and measure from hole to friction surface. Then find a set within that reach.Yeah. Them coaster brakes. How do I go about putting hand lever brakes on them? I'm talking about your regular ol' rim wall braking setup..... not your disk variety. Is it pretty much plug n' play after purchasing those universal brake kits?
Also.... what would I need to get in order to mount some type of front suspension on there? I plan to break the sound barrier with my bike and the thought of no suspension sounds a bit scary.
Welcome to the school of hard knocks.View attachment 163794Not all brakes are created equal. I put the cheap $20 Sunlite side pull brakes on my bike and it didn’t take long for me tear em up. The rear brake sheared the mount bolt and the wheel flung the assembly off on a brake apply. I drilled the the center piece and remounted it with a 1/4”x20 stainless carriage bolt. I also have tywraps stopping the brake from flexing too far now. I guess I’m hard on my gear. I’m learning the hard way that the cheap route usually ends up being the expensive route.
