Good evening folks.

I've researched this for like 2 hours and there is an insane amount of information, so much so that it's hard to correlate any of it into a concrete answer.

I broke a spoke on the rear wheel of my chinesium bike, and while it still functions for the time being, I need a replacement for the long term.

Any recommendations for a HD rear wheel? Whether it's spoke or mag I don't really care.

Most wheels I've found are not V brake compatible (a must, I don't want to mess around with disc brakes) and/or have a very small pedal drive gear which also isn't acceptable. I run my bike at speed 2 (approx 20T) and it's since chinesium it's a freewheel type 7 gear. I've looked on CDH. I've looked on Bikeberry. I've looked on many normal bicycle sites. Can't really find anything I'm happy with.

I'm perfectly OK running the ragjoint forever if need be.

Apparently Grubee used to make a decent HD Axle rear wheel but can't find them anywhere.

26" size by the way. Any recommendations? Also I'm in Canada.
Yes get the circumference of your rear hub. Half that is your diameter. Amazon has hub mount kits for 1" to 11/2", and do not try to use the shim to make the bigger one fit the 1 inch cuz it doesn't hold tight enough for the 1 inch. It does hold tight enough for the 11/4 inch hub though. Then get rid of that pustid rag joint and have a nice day....or you can spend about 80 bucks on a BBR heavy rim and replace yours.

This reply of yours to Weefek is only 2 years and 11 months too late, he hasn't been back since December of 2024 so don't expect an answer...Each and every post and thread is date coded...Look for the date codes before you reply please.
