Well I Did it!

Ok

The route iself is a pretty straight forward route, and I think the main time savings come from me taking a direct route to work, and only stopping when I have to, as opposed to the bus taking a meandering route stopping continually.

It's probably about 8k's to work by bike, It really isnt far at all. Bike lanes on the road most of the way (and the sections that arent, in the next 12 months will be!! The council is building more).

My building super is pretty cool as well, he doesnt mind me using the basement. The bike rack has been there as long as I can remember, but I am the only one in the entire building who uses it...

Not sure I'll ride the bike everyday, but at least a couple of times a week!

I do want to find a frame with front suspension though, smooth out some of those bumps...

Yep, Stored in the basement of my building. Chained to a bike rack

Like "the gimp" in pulp fiction! :p

I would figure either the basement, or the rack, would be enough.

Of course invisibility = security through obscurity.

yeah, and it doesnt hurt that the basement is accessed by security card only!

I do lock it because sometimes we have contractors who leave the roller door open..

Well, been riding in every day, Very uneventfull, I have the route down pat now, bike lanes for 80% of the way the other 20% is relatively flat, and given the left lane is parking anyway, i'm not holding up cars!

Will continue doing it fopr sure!

I'm back on the road, seen as though you're doing it so easy,
we should do a lap of centennial park one morning,
then head to the city for werk

10 min on your MB
30 min on a bus that's great !!

I don't like riding the bus
have noticed that bus and I travel at almost the same speed
when figured in that they make many stops
we are in the county area
in the big city -- think that I would also -- blow them away

Well done, balls to the wall...nothing like putting yourself on the line.

I used to carry a spare kit, but now if I break down, I just lock the bike against a tree
and walk the rest to work.

you can get some amazing views within 10 minutes.

----------------------------------------------------------
I just saw your photo of Sydney's Rocks area.
I went for a ride around there yesterday. It's a very nice place for a ride.
Next time I go there I'll take my fishing gear.
I might see you guys there.

Have you noticed that the ride home is also terribly enjoyable.

If you had driven, you'd have to get in your car with your back and knees all sore and then pulled out of the parking lot and gotten in line at a red light, the first of many, etc.

When I head home from work, I feel just fine on my MB.
