What causes: intermittent high revving

I don't cut any fruit wood, other than cherry. There is so much of that, I'd have a stock pile for 1000 years. I use mostly hickory and alder for my smoker.
Lots of orchard owners have little baby saws for pruning, 017s ms170 and smaller.
Well if I was close by I'd come & get 10 years worth of cherry from you.😂🤣

Lol I was looking at buying a commercial grade stihl pruning saw with a 12" bar. F they dont give them saws away, it cost more than my stihl ms390 & ms460 saws.

They run in the neighborhood of $259 around here, and the Chainsaw Sisters sell lots of those. 440s go for $1000 and 660 go for $1300.

Dang saws has went up, I paided $386 for ms390 & $429 for my ms460. Lol I used to work for dealership & got employee pricing.

I've been out of forestry and arborist rigging for a while...but I still got a pair of westco climbing boots I won't let go of...

Lol I went a couple weeks ago & priced a new stihl ms500i electronic fuel injected chainsaw, could of got into it for $1000 but decided my smaller stihl are big enough. That 500i saw is quite impressive with the titanium bar its 8lbs lighter than my ms390. Bada$$ saw thou.

Around here the little saws, little price, big saws, big price. That's why when I charge $150 for a tune those guys don't even bat an eye.

I haven't even priced out the big Huskys lately, probably similar to the Stihl. My old 61 does just fine, good saw for 30 years old. Starts on the 2nd, 3rd pull when I haven't run it in a while, but after it's been out a few days it's first pull when cold. It will sit an idle all day.
