what modifications are required to add 3 inch wide tires

I have a 2003 Panther Whizzer with 24" x 2.125" inch tires. I am hoping to put some Felt Thick Brick Tires on my bike that are 24" x 3" inch tires. I suspect that there will be clearance issues with the drive belt. I am also worried about alignment with the belt if clearance can be made for the belt.

Please let me know what you suggest. Thanks.
