Hey guys,

I am putting my sprocket on a different wheel and I'm having a hard time lining the plates up. I got around this on my other bike by tightening them in a specific order, similar to doing a "star pattern" on a 5 lug vehicle.

What order do you tighten the wheels? Even if it doesn't align the plates, I still would like to know what order.

Thanks guys

I just thought I'd update what I did in case anyone wants to know.

I finger tightened the bolts and had the plates all even with no over lapping. If you can't move the plate then loose your three bolts until you can.

I did a 9 point star, and you're going to make three triangles.

Use masking tape and label each bolt as "1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8,9"

After you labeled each bolt, turn the wheel so that Bolt #1 is at 12 o clock.

You're then going to tighten but not torque down your bolts in this order. 1, 4, 7, 2, 5, 8, 3, 6, 9

You're essentially making a triangle with every 3 numbers. 1, 4, 7 is an equilateral triangle, so is 2, 5, 8 and 3, 6, 9. Then torque to spec.
