What the deal with gaskets?

hey i have an a80 i was just wondering about gaskets. what happens if you take the exhaust gasket off? or the carby gasket? how about adding more gaskets?

Removal of exhaust gasket can cause a pop when you release the throttle, and most likely will leak exhaust from where the gasket was removed. No intake gasket can cause a intake leak. No real reason to add a extra gasket if the surfaces mate..Why?

where can i get the best exhaust gasket or how can i make one. the one that came stock just fell apart
