So out with the reeds and what will that get you for better performance??
The non-windowed piston along with not having the reed also results in more blowback of excess fuel/oil mix back through the carburetor as well.The phantom gains about half hp without the reed.
Chasing that 1/2 HP on a Phantom 85 still makes no sense to me when we are talking about 50+ MPH right out of the box...I have two Phantoms that run and purr beautifully, I haven't changed out anything from stock except the airfilter...lol.
