Which mods is the best for a Phantom 85

None. It’s…I actually can’t explain. It’s a 50mm minarelli on a bt custom case. Takes normal China doll exhausts and ld heads. https://rmhperformance.com/products/venom-80-cc

Just dive in kid. It's worth it. I understand the exceptions but any grease monkey who buys a race motor and thinks their cool will get no cred from me but a hypothetical kid with the cheapest Amazon kit and some heart in his garage makes it go just 3mph faster or leave just c alittle harder. That kids my hero and I'll treat him like one lol
Also agree on screw other opinions but I urge you to go for it! Take ur time. Set ur degree wheel a million times. Do it. Buy 2 cylinders extra when u can and bust out that dremel!
I fully plan to read up on porting and port an engine, but before I was intimidated, and decided to order a phantom. Now is a different story as I ordered my phantom last October. But after ordering the phantom and hearing all the good and bad of the avenger, I had to have one. I just wanted to know what the fuss was about. That's plenty enough to keep me busy for a while though, so porting my own engine and building something from the ground up is gonna be a little while.

Which style of porting are you leaning towards, the more modern style or the older Gordon Jennings style?

I'm not sure. I haven't looked into it yet. It's something I figured would be best to learn before doing it and actually getting practice with what I learned. Just to have it fresh on my mind.
