I downloaded an advertisement for the 2005 Whizzer NE5, and one line read:

"We have re-engineered the engine for better cooling and improved performance."

Specifically, what did they do to improve it?

Thanks...

Well Hal, I don't have all the specifics, but the WC-1 engine that preceded the NE5 was prone to overheating, especially if allowed to sit at idle too long. This was addressed with a new cylinder and head. I would need to compare them side by side to tell you the differences, but as I don't have a WC1 I cannot say what they are. I'm guessing maybe more and larger cooling fins.
The performance issue was addressed with a redesigned (hotter) cam, but it created another set of problems that was ultimately resolved by the introduction of the mushroom lifters. My 2005 now has the mushroom lifters, and those have also helped the performance by keeping the valves open a hair longer.

By the way Hal, do you have a link to the site you found the advertisement on? I wouldn't mind seeing it myself.
