Whizzer Motor Removal 1999

I have one other machine that I prefer to put time/money into - it needs to have two seals in the crankcase replaced. Same guy looked at it, took it to his buddy who works at a small engine shop. He has a magneto puller for small 2-stroke engines. They pulled it and said the seals are dry rotted after 50 years. So my task is to get this over to a shop who can pull the magneto, get the seals out and try to find a match for them

can't get parts for this machine....but it's a blast to ride!

FWIIW, it is always a good idea to take many photos of something BEFORE you start to take it apart and better after each piece is taken off. Then thinks like that mounting bracket would not be an issue..... Good luck with what you decide to do. I have too many bikes right now and no hitch to haul a bike on the new car yet, so otherwise might be interested in buying. GLWTS.

To be honest, I'm thinking that this machine is not for me.

I appreciate everyone here and the advice and feedback. But I just ran down the street and it quit on me at 30mph. I had to fiddle with the choke and I got it running again, but it runs like crap and .... I'm tired of it. I can't trust it, and I don't think I can handle all the care this needs.

As I mentioned, I'm not mechanically inclined enough for this bike. And I have it because my father gave it to me, but I can't afford the time to spend on it. Nor do I have the money to pay someone to keep working on it.

I'm really thinking of selling it now. I could use the space and I don't need the hassle

I know you guys would have this running smoothly in no time.

If you know anyone who'd be interested in buying it, please let me know.
Yup, a Whizzer needs alot of Love and isn't for everyone
There are alot of other Mopeds/Scooters that will be more reliable and trouble free for ya
Use the $money ya get for the Whizzer and buy something else

The vibration is coming from a unbalanced flywell. The bar up front is just a guide bar.
Yup, that's right, now I remember, the early WC-1 had a unbalanced flywheel issue
If ya had one that was unbalanced it really got your attention

Also with that stabilizer guide bar cut in half that probably magnifies the affects

I've never operated a Whizzer with 1/2 a guide bar,
However, I know what it feels like when the rear mount bolt to the frame bracket is a little loose - It gets your attention

The WC-1's aren't for everyone. Even though there's 5,800 1999, I have Number 7 and 4 more of the 99's.

That WC-1 is too cool for school. It has the look and it has character. Say, could a person like yourselves with many years experience and knowledge build a WC-1 with the appropriate upgrades like the one in the above picture that could run at 45-50mph and be bulletproof?

I still use WC-1's top ends, I don't have valve problems or heat problems. I use Thermal barriers and dry film Lubricant. I can also run them at 50 mpr. I can keep my motor temp at about 300 degrees.
