Whizzer Motor Removal 1999

Did the guy who is helping you cut the stabilizer mount bracket and mount it the way it is now?

If he cut it he's a stinking thinking idiot
He must have. I just emailed him to ask about that. That's how clueless I am, I drove 2 hours to pick it up and did not notice these things.

Awe that's too bad
Do you still have this bracket, If not you'll need that too

Did the same guy put this spring on to hold the tail pipe in the exhaust manifold ?

If so, his stinking thinking isn't that bad , It's a good modification (y)

I use springs on my tail pipe too 1 on top and 1 on the bottom
2 springs pull pipe in evenly against the exhaust manifold barrel gasket
I highly recommend this mod to Whizzer owners

Stock manifold The tail pipe was held in the manifold with just 1 set screw
I hope the set screw is still in your manifold - Just to plug the hole , not to hold the pipe
Use a jam nut so the screw don't fall out
Set screw is on the bottom side of the manifold,

I looked on E Bay for that mount bar and found nothing except a $400 vintage Whizzer motor mount kit (n)

But here it is in Taiwan from the Manufacturer that made your bike
I suggest contact by E mail before you order anything. It's in Taiwan

Of course you can always make your own engine mount stabilizer bar out of a piece of 1/8" flat bar
But making a copy with the correct bends and bolt hole spacing might be hard for you

Good catch, was waiting for someone to notice that ;-) yes, he made that piece for the tailpipe. He can make parts for sure.

thank you!

thank you!
Did you E Mail your builder friend and tell him about the bar he cut
Maybe he can just weld it back together or make you a new one, after all it was his F up

Show him this pic so he can see how it's suppose to be

BTW Whizzer engine mounting instructions show the flat bar on the bottom side of the bottom mount
But it really don't seem to matter as my flat bar has always been on the topside of the mount

To be honest, I'm thinking that this machine is not for me.

I appreciate everyone here and the advice and feedback. But I just ran down the street and it quit on me at 30mph. I had to fiddle with the choke and I got it running again, but it runs like crap and .... I'm tired of it. I can't trust it, and I don't think I can handle all the care this needs.

As I mentioned, I'm not mechanically inclined enough for this bike. And I have it because my father gave it to me, but I can't afford the time to spend on it. Nor do I have the money to pay someone to keep working on it.

I'm really thinking of selling it now. I could use the space and I don't need the hassle

I know you guys would have this running smoothly in no time.

If you know anyone who'd be interested in buying it, please let me know.

Once a guy gets it all ironed out, it should be way better than that. It shouldn't be doing that.

But I understand selling it. Wish I could buy it, but that's not happening rn lol.
