I could have told ya that one...lol.
Anytime Im asked to gouge I make sure to f*** up enough to never be asked again, I hate the noise and I could never stand to practice enough to get any good during my apprenticeship.

It used to be the little 78" trailer in the center. now it's 10'. I checked and it's 1/4" out of square, not too bad for an amateur.
1/4" is within Canadian specs, your good

Fluxcore wire is 100% pull. I would bevel your ends for a buttweld bevel at a 30degree angle but leave a 16th to an 8th untouched for a structural root weld

I would further add gussets to thoes 4 corners 1/8in plate cut into a 3in triangle. It will stop the flex your talking about
