I’m still trying to find something different. I want to go long range so bad sometime soon. Only issue is my chain ring is too big. I can’t pedal it even if I wanted to. So I started thinking and remembered cdhpower sells a single piece crank that is wide. This would be great and work out. Putting a single piece crank back on would give me the choice to put whatever size sprocket I like. But then I start looking and it’s a proprietary sprocket. It fits on a hex head casted into the crank. Tried looking for that with no results. I thought about buying an mtb tapered chain ring to fit on the end of my tappered shaft but then realized my chain alignment won’t work. All of this has lead me to believe if I want to be able to pedal it’s just going to be with an overly big chain ring. I did hear about mmbikeparts but it seems they closed shop. They would have what I’m looking for but it’s a sad reality.

Any recommendations for a wide crank set that I can choose how many teeth the sprocket ends up being would be great. Being able to pedal just sounds weird but that’s something I still want.

How is the chain ring too big? Does it contact the engine or is it just difficult to pedal? If it's difficult to pedal just get larger rear sprocket and remove the snap ring to swap them. And since it looks like you haven't, remove the coaster break and add rim brakes. The coaster break will get you hurt.

I'm going to assume you want lower gear ratios because you occasionally want to ride under human power only sometimes. Therefore, get an internal geared hub and use a 28t sprocket on it. Then you won't have to change anything on your crankset. More importantly, you need to make brake upgrades the top priority before doing anything else.

Here's a 24t. That's about the biggest I could find.

Can you remove the large sprocket and replace it with a smaller one. I don't know how it's attached but you could always grind it off. But then you'd have to weld a smaller one on. If you choose to go this way just remember...........
you MUST have the new one perfectly centered before you start to tack it into place. If you get sloppy it will not be centered which will cause the chain to get tight and then loose with every revolution. Ask me how I know. LOL
