Use the choke. If it won't start in 45* with that, there's something wrong with it. In fact mine will start in 45* weather WITHOUT the choke. Probably carb settings, maybe if you want to get fancy you could add a primer lol.
Ok.... all that should be easily fixable, BUT if you don't want to go that route, add a primer. It will make it start SOO much easier, you will not regret it.

With the former option, you will need a 1/4-1/4-1/8 T-fitting, as well as a 1/8 nipple to threaded connector, which will need to be tapped into the manifold. I believe with the latter option, that particular specimen comes with both those fittings.
