HI all,

I have a Hall detroit generator like the one in the photo and see that it has a small lubricating nib on each side.

My question is do I inject some sort of oil in there or grease? Also, about what amount?

Thanks ..... Wayne

Oil is a safer bet. The only drawbacks to that would be possible weeping onto other parts, and the need for more frequent lubrication.

I'd add just a few drops to each fitting at first and listen for changes in the sound when it runs.

If you can determine that only bearings and/or gears are lubricated by the fittings, then use grease.
