Probably common question but none of the other threads I saw fixed my problem..
So I was riding a bit in the rain (might not be related) then my engine started going on and off, sputtering and stalled. Pedaled it a bunch and could ride it about 10 meters with it sputtering, after that it didnt start anymore. pedaled it back with engine off(bad, I know)

I dried the magneto, all the wires are connected and fine. Drained the carb bowl, put more fuel in tank and checked the spark gap/plug, all was fine.
I also took off the top end and checked that everything was fine, not really any scratches or marks on the piston or cylinder, atleast ones that you can feel.

The bike does get spark and has decent compression and such, doubt it'd be the fault of any leaks or anything since I used to run the bike without an exhaust and visible gap between intake and cylinder and it ran fine back then

When I pedaled downhill on the way home after it broke down every now and then it let out a pop and sputtered for about 5 seconds once

What should I replace first or check? don't have a lot of spare money.

Perhaps the water did something else im missing other than electrical issues and carb bowl? I can't think of anything. Help is greatly appreciated

I would start with making sure there is no water in your fuel. I would bet 100 bucks water got into your fuel tank. Since it's heavier than gas, it sinks and ends up in your carb bowl. Now it won't run. Try fresh fuel and see what happens.

Emptied the tank, emptied the carburator bowl again, cleaned fuel line and filter(or whatever the small plastic thing is) dried the plug just to make sure and nothing still. Doesnt really even try to start anymore
