Hello all,new to this forum.I have a 80cc china Engine kit on my bike, the problem is that when i go full throttle it gets up to a certain rpm and starts 4 stroking,my guess is that the main jet needs to be swapped for a smaller one as the spark plug is black and not white like it would be if too lean,BikeBerry are out of stock of their main jet kits so was wondering if this jet kit I found on Ebay would work with my enginehttps://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/38691677...sqxkxcmr_q&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

We would have no idea without knowing what carburetor your using...It could be an NT, a JRL BoFeng, or some other carburetor that comes with the kits that your ordering from Armagh....The jets even between two close cousins like the NT and the BoFeng are totally different from each other.

The Carburettor has BoFeng on the side of it👍

I think i will just wait until BikeBerry get in more stock instead of spending the 10 dollars each on a jet that i dont know will even work right, the jet kit on bike berry is only 6 dollars

Keihin jets are quality jets that are used in most Asian motorcycles as well as on the BoFeng carbs, the very reason JRL BoFeng decided to use them instead of the NT carburetor jets...Your BoFeng even has an emulsifier tube in it that the NTs do not have.

This is not an iffy product, No one here in the forums to my knowledge have ever had a problem with these jets.

I am curious though as to which groove exactly did you place the snap ring clip on the float needle since this will effect four stroking by being either too lean or too rich...I would be doing this first since your elevation above sea level is not too great in the Ulster and Armagh regions of Northern Ireland...The #70 jets that come stock in the BoFengs should be able to handle this quite easily...A certain amount of 4 stroking is quite normal though, especially during breakin as it also aids in cooling.

This could all be nothing more than just a little bit of fine tuning adjustments.

Also check if your float is actually adjusted to a float height of 21mm from the gasket seat.

Hello, sorry for late reply but,i moved the clip up one notch and had it out for a day and it was running a little too hot for my liking so i moved the clip back down to the notch it was originally on,was out on it today and it does 4 stroke at full throttle but i was peddaling fast to get the engine past the rpm it was 4 stroking at and was very fast in the power band

Has the motor been fully broken in yet???...Im going to say at least 150 to 200 miles for a good thorough breakin.

These motors run best once they are broken in so if this is not the case as of yet, be patient and then we can talk about more adjustments.

That still doesn't tell me what notch you have it in so I can tell you if you are anywhere even close to dialing this thing in correctly.

So what was the RPMs and about how fast was it going when it hit the power band???...Ps...If your still breaking it in...going full throttle all the time is NOT recommended unless you are only wanting this motor to last for a very short while.

it was running a little too hot for my liking
So how many degrees was it that told you it was too hot???
