can't you talk to someone else about their stuff without getting an "advertisement" for your stuff in there too?

if you have a good product, my fellow consumers will let me know...

and the practice skirts "billboarding" anyways which is against the some confidence that the product will speak for itself...some of ya's remind me of vacuum-cleaner salesmen with plaid sportcoats chasing me around the convention floor & tugging at my's not necessary and it's a real turn-off besides.

thank you, that is all :cool2:

I would put your logo back up and tell augi to shut the **** up.... Be proud of your business.... If you work hard to produce a good product for your customer, one that you feel proud to sport.... you should be proud to put your logo on your avatar as well. That isnt being a vacuum cleaner salesman... that is standing behind your product/name and letting everybody know it.

i would be skeptical of somebody that was trying to hide their business affiliations.

... and shame on you augi for making legitamate people like bill feel bad... take your complaints and bad attitude somewhere else.

I actually like it when people talk about their products. It makes it more personal. We tend to filter out blinking advertisements because we are desesitized. Forums like this provide valuable interaction between r&d, management, and the end consumer.

Dont try and take that away from people like me and bill because of your sour-puss attitude.

i didn't name names, NOR did i complain about acceptable signatures or avatars...i meant exactly what i said..."when talking about someone else's stuff is the time to avoid mentioning yours"...don't read any more into that than what is there.

i saw something i didn't like as a consumer so i brought it to the white zone & i even kept it low key and general in tone...and now you want me to feel bad about that? i don't.

and, truth be honestly told...when i saw bill's response (which i did not solicit or expect) i didn't see someone feeling bad, i chose to see someone making a positive move (thank you bill) and responded with a much nicer reply than you seem able to post lately.

    to repeat

and if anyone wants to make more of this than what it is, take it somewhere else...i'll ask moddy's to be all over this if names start flying.

again, i chose to view azbill's response as positive & supportive, you make you own choices.

this was not about aug !
I put the logo in my avatar when I was PO'd about how EZM was being treated here one day :)

my choice was to change it today

don't lay it on him, I am a big boy and did this all on my own, thank you ;)

as to the other comment...not worth my time to reply

I only replied to show my support, not to get him attacked

it just seems like he complains about this kinda stuff way too much.... last I checked that was the responsibility of the mods and admins.

We get enough of that from them augi.... we dont need the average joe schmo site participant to get involved.

If you want to become a forum fascist to, then you need to go through the proper channels and just get the authority from the beginning.

you just canNOT stand it when peeps try to get, who made you the participant who decides what other participants get to unload about?

this WASN'T about bill, and shame on YOU for doing HIS thinking for him.

the guy who finally pushed me into make these comments will never acknowledge them, nor do i expect him to change his doesn't matter, i feel better gettin' it off my chest & i do know he's seen it at least.

words, in my use of "some of ya's" and not "all of ya's"...and this isn't about on-topic content which is expected and's about finding a way to mention your own stuff even when it's NOT (or juuuust barely) on-topic.

give it up's the white zone and i didn't do anything wrong...maybe i didn't feel like starting anything official...maybe i only kept it low key for my own piece of mind...nothing says you have to reply to every topic you take issue with.

just don't be so quick to assume in the future...everyone has to unload once in a while.

and yaknow something else? y'all bestow a ton more "power" on me than i have...anything i've been able to influence as a regular member can be achieved by any one of us...all you have to do is care about the place and never back down.

I did NOT intend for my original reply to start this,,,
you called it right Aug, I was trying to make a peacefull gesture towards the forum, I shouldn't have posted in this thread I guess...

I am here to help and get help when needed,,,my position all along :)

others can read into it what they want...they always do :(

well i'm glad you did post, bill, and i will "run and tell" if anyone attacks you for doing so...mayhaps the past is finally becoming the past, everyone's doing so well lately it hardly seems worth worrying about how we got here, eh?

every consumer-group has its' radical-advocates, it keeps things in balance...the last 3 years has proven that i'm pretty good at it...i'm a nutcase anyways so let me do what i do best :ack2:

I'll respectfully disagree with you on that point. It's one thing for a vendor, dealer or whatever to give someone advice but it's another thing when they point that forum member to their own website or have company logos and contact information in their signature.

I think that companies should be restricted to the banner ads, and if they want to have a web forum to hype and support their own products, they should start their own and keep it off of this one. The top banner says that "Beyond receiving sponsorship support, MBc is NOT associated with any retail endeavor". Well smack my a$$ and call me Sally, but you could've fooled me!

okeedokie - time for another dog pile!

I would sooooo much like to come back to this forum full time. This is a typical thread every single time I pop back in to see if things are friendly and supportive like the beginning days of my membership. It's become to much debate and drama for just a plain guy who simply loves to build bikes and share his findings. Please my friends.... lets try and get back to being students, and a teachers. A great place of knowledge for those who seek it.

Ok...I was going to remain silent on the comments here (I am still new to the site), but I just read a post that drove the point home. A MBc member named Josh Simon passed away last year. Someone made a post to his old thread. The post I just read after I posted my sentiments, demonstrates clearly what Augidog is saying. Read it here, then if you are not repulsed by a comment after mine, then you can continue to berate Augidog.

it's pretty simple. most successful forums do not allow commercialism. with commercialism there will be watchdogs. don't make me make a long speech, ok? i just wanted to vent and brought it here, anyone who replied is either possessed or did it of their own free will.

graucho, it is the steadfast mission to remain a consumer-controlled "mixer" that makes us different. i would postulate that with a bit more thought you could find many useful lessons at MBc to pass on to your's not we're a buncha criminals, we're just real different people trying to be real different ;)
