I remember reading about him when I was looking up Libertarian socialism. He seems like he knows everything from his debates on Youube. You other guys know anything about him?

My guess is that you have a poster of him in your room, next to the posters of Karl Marx, Chez Guevara, Saul Alinsky, and Hugo Chavez. :D

Nope... but I have been listening to an awful lot of his lectures, debates on Youtube.

Was just wondering if he was more popular back in the 70s, 80s, or whenever. . .

Supposedly he is the "most quoted political author worldwide" and has been named the "world's top intellectual" a couple times.

Like I said in my OP... this guy really does know everything.

    Libertarian-Socialists FTW!

Finally got around to listening to the end of the Chomsky vs. Perle debate.

These are the best two parts of the debate, where Perle doesn't open his mouth much... ;)

    Part 16
    Part 18

    What an ending.

He might be boring, but I just love how the guy always smiles and says, "I can cite references if you'd like." Wish I could drink a beer with him and ask him questions about Libertarian-Socialism.

is another one of your reliable sources?

Anything that is self rated by its users is not reliable... who is to say that the people visiting the site are not 18% republican and 45% democrat?

Are you staring to understand the idea of reliability and accuracy of the sources you choose to view? Scholarly and not Scholarly?

How can you discredit a page that is asking people to band together to get Chomsky in the MSM?!?

This whole attacking every article/site just because of the source has got to stop, man. Discredit the article... not the source. In this case, it's impossible to discredit the article, because it's not even an article!!!

It makes no difference if the people on reddit are black white, yellow, green, purple, democrat, republican, ugly, st00pit, intelligent, or cracked out on some dopamine!!! They're still people!!

What I said was (and you even quoted me)... "It's pretty awesome to me that people are starting to realize who Noam Chomsky is..." which is absolutely f@#kin' true.

so would you believe a fox news poll, taken only from people that visit, was fair and balanced?

Spanky... you should know that I dont hold third party sources in very high regard as far as proof is concerned. I guess what i am saying is that in order to be credible, I mean bulletproof solid. A source needs to be first person, or at best an impartial third person.

You have to understand that the truth and facts go through the third party filter and therefore come out tainted by definition. Biased Third party opinions are good for ideas and finding out what others think... but not good for proving anything. Do you notice the difference in the sites I quote versus the ones you quote lets compare...

Cites I have recently quoted for proof

yeah I read it before I attacked the source...the question is weather or not to expose more people to a known anarchist an his kook trouble making ideas. then, just to set the record... a bunch of kooks talk about how great that would be.

All on a site with the following headers on the top of the site...

Very neutral, non biased, third party site. Very reliable for information...

come on... you are just eroding any credibility you have here by linking this stuff.

I feel like you'd be better off signing up to reddit and trying your tricks on a larger group of people there. I cannot handle your illogical tactics alone. You need to understand libertarian-socialism (among many other things) if you'd truly like to discuss Noam Chomsky and true anarchism. Anarchy does not equate to punks with tattoos and no knowledge of politics, history, etc. If you could share with us what libertarian-socialism is, its history, and its future... I'd love to entertain you with some real discussion.

Now... Let me go ahead and try to reset this thread to get it back on topic with a little less drag from the peanut gallery, who cannot possibly discuss a topic without bringing up the source. The source was actually some random dude who asked if people could get together to see if they could possibly get Noam Chomsky heard in the mainstream media.

"It's pretty awesome to me that people are starting to realize who Noam Chomsky is...

That's the second Noam Chomsky article I've seen on reddit in a couple days. Impressive."
