Now For The Cosmetic Mods!

But Kilroy...

...would that stem that you have on Thumper fit into the fork of my NE-5?

(MLC doesn't list a price for that Chrome Forged Stem.)

Would the internal clamping expander make the stem secure in my fork?

Thanks...
HAL

Hal, Thumper is a 2005 NE5 with no mods to the fork or steering tube, and that gooseneck holds firm with just the standard wedge (expander) system. The diameter of the chrome gooseneck is just maybe 1/32 inch smaller (I guess because it's not metric), but that hasn't been an issue. The gooseneck was around $25 when purchased from MLC at the Trexlertown (PA) bicycle swap meet a few years ago. I don't know if the price is still the same or not.

THANKS, KILROY!

That's good to know...Oscar is also a 2005 NE5!

Would you have a close-up picture of your gooseneck?

What breed is your Avatar Dog?

We recently attended the annual High Desert AKC Dog Show, where 1151 dogs were entered, from over 150 breeds!

The Best of Show was won by a Welsh Corgie. (Tailless Pembroke type)

Hal, I don't have a close-up of my gooseneck, but I'll try to remember to take a shot and post it tomorrow. As to my avatar photo, it's of an English Springer Spaniel named Duke. It's not my Springer, but one that was up for adoption last summer. I was going to try to adopt him (as a companion for my Springer), but someone beat me to him. I use his pic as an avatar because I get a kick out of his happy face.

My ex-wife loved the dog shows!
Out of all of them we attended.....she never even placed.

:devilish:

HEY DAVE:

You mean she was never even a contender for "Best of Breed"?

(Oscar thanks you for the compliment!)

HAL :D
