30series torque convertor & 7spd shift kit compatibility.

What's everyone's thoughts on 30 series torque convertor, ran to a 7spd shift kit. Would it be just a jumbled up redundant shifting mess? Would shift kit blow up? I'm not sure what the outcome would be.

Just what kind of engine do you plan to hook up to the torque converter? If this is going to be a large engine. Reduce the number of rear cogs from 7 to around 3 or 4. You're only going to have problems if you have wide cross-chaining with a lot of torque going through the bicycle drive system. My personal choice for a bicycle chain is a Shimano HG71. If you use a freewheel instead of a cassette; then be sure to install a cro-molly axle.

With that much torque, 3 or 4 speeds is all you need. The biggest issue would be chains and sprockets, I guess if you gradually roll on the power you could hit some pretty good top end.
