The pocketbike transmission on my frame-mounted bike developed major vibration/ chattering problems when launching my bike from a standing start. The clutch drum was slightly wobbly, even though its retaining nut was very tightly secured. After replacing the tranny, I inspected its bevel gears and found the pinion gear teeth to be quite sharp. Maybe heat treating the gears would make them last longer.
Has anyone heat treated any of their jackshaft, chainring, rear driven sprockets?
