Ik it's been talked about but I think I want to know for sure once and for all of I am able to use cardboard cutouts as a gasket?.¿
Some people live in remote areas and don't have access or wheels to get parts, so they have to be inventive. Cereal box is the best. What are you using it for?You can, but why not spend a little money for some fel-pro gasket material. It's surprisingly inexpensive
Fair enough. Last time I made one with cardboard was because the hardware store was closed and I couldn't make it into town. Some people live in remote areas and don't have access or wheels to get parts, so they have to be inventive. Cereal box is the best. What are you using it for?
I use a thin coat of axle grease, but if you're on the road and an emergency repair is needed, oil from the crank case will work.I made an emergency exhaust gasket outta cardboard
I soaked it in oil first, it lasted as long as I needed it for which was a little over 100 miles
I'm talking in a pinch when it's not reg availYou can, but why not spend a little money for some fel-pro gasket material. It's surprisingly inexpensive
