Hello, the clutch was hanging up on my gas scooter so I pulled the engine off and while I had it off I decided to pull the cylinder to inspect it, looks good other than a little excessive carbon build up. But now I cant get the piston rings to clear the cylinder is there and secret tricks I can do to slide the cylinder over the piston while still connected to the rod?

Two zap straps around the rings will help compress them and slide the cylinder on, then just snip off the zip ties after.

Make sure the pins in the piston ring lands are lined up with the gaps in the rings. The piston will never fit in the cylinder unless the gap in the rings is between the pins.
