I would like to try and use a speedometer from a motorcycle on my bicycle is this possible? If so, how would I go about it? I have no previous experience with wiring or anything like that? Would it even be close to accurate given the difference in tire size?

get one that's got a mechanical drive from the front wheel, not an electric one. make a new faceplate for it so the numbers match your real speed
  4. Remembering my BSA no the cable goes into the gear box there is no compatably for motor bike.

The old Schwinn bicycles used to have analog speedos. I'd be interested in one, too.

some go to the gearbox, some measure wheel speed. it doesn't really matter which you get, as long as you can connect it to your front wheel via a standard bicycle speedo drive. then print a new faceplate so you don't have to mess with the internal gears
