Looking for recommendations for a noobie

So first off, see attached photo of my original spark plug. Referencing the infographs that Damien posted earlier in the thread, I definitely think that the spark is too cold and too rich based off of the darkish color, on both the electrodes, as well as the threading. Would you all agree with that? I receive new plug(BR6HS) today, and after putting it in, I'm definitely seeing a loss of top end, primarily to it starting to 4 stroke pretty hard. Is there an order of operations you would recommend in troubleshooting? I would think I'd want to adjust C Clip up to attempt to lean it out. But as has been proven(and the title suggests), I'm a newbie. Is there a better place to start with troubleshooting?
