Engine Trouble make clutch pads from tires?

Lol guys - I know this is a fairly old thread but knowledge is timeless. Anyways, it's definitely NOT old tyre they use for clutch lining, it's funny tho.... .if you wanna get fancy n make your own clutch pads for your 2 stroke bicycle engine, search for 'brake lining' and you'll find the correct material they use to re-line brake pads and clutch plates with. Depending on how much clamping force you have, you can go really high tech and go with Kevlar or ceramic, but with a stock type setup, go with you basic organic material... get the material in the correct thickness, cut it out n off u go.... being a backyard engineer has a nice learning curve. Put it this way- If I can manage to milk over 650hp at the rear wheels out of my imported Nissan in the backyard with no workshop assistance, then anything is possible - 'if there's a will then there's a way..'
