After some looking around, I got hold of a suitable bike and started trying various ideas ect. It's still very much a work in progress, made a gas tank to serve as a electrics storage, built a fork bracket, a few brackets and a custom engine mount for a 49cc 4 stroke engine. Still lots more to do , but making slow progress.

That frame looks like a great 4 stroke. I think it would look sick with a flathead engine in there
It was a ladies bike, the cross bar was relocated and turned back to front. The goal is to get it in street legal shape and pass the test, then it can be registered for road use. With a tight budget I will try use what's on hand and make whatever possible. Make it up as it goes, no plans on paper so far. Thanks for the idea of a flathead, as they say"You never Know"??

I love old flatties, they run forever even if they smoke like a freight train. Your building style sounds alot like mine, just do what ya can with what ya got

It will have to be a little 49cc four stroke for now. I did'nt like the motor plate supplied with the kit, so heavy with too many fasteners. I'm lucky to have access to my buddies workshop, fabbed up a custom engine plate that fits and seems to work fine.

With the 49cc 4-stroke run a 49cc pocket-bike cvt to a duel sprocket jackshaft. Then from the jackshaft to the rear wheel. This'll give you a wide reduction range while maintaining an automatic transmission system.

That's a very good option, and not too hard to do. I have a few sprockets and some more parts coming, been considering a couple options. Thanks for the input. The tank is coming along, lots of sanding to come.

If you're a large person and have steep hills to contend with; you'll need it.
