That particular sale ended and it was closer to $70. So yeah unless you're trying get someone's hopes falsely up, the best deals are still about $100 for a basic 66cc kit. Was this $70 with free shipping?

I bought a kit off of e-bay a week and a half ago for $70 with the shipping. It was bought to replace a friends engine that blew. The seller started off with 40 for sell and when i found it he only had four left. The engine had 40mm. front mount with 8mm. studs. The intake was cast 32mm. with 6mm. studs. The ex was 32mm. with 6mm. studs. I think it was built with the newer crank case and old left over top in.

Should note that the Mongoose Hotshot is a 700C wheel size bike, so it's likely to be geared a little taller than a 26" wheel bike with the basic 44 tooth rear sprocket. This is one situation I'd be inclined to run a 48 tooth rear sprocket, even though the 700C tires are narrower, they also are much bigger in diameter and will make the engine lug down more on hills. Also because the rim is narrower and the spokes are longer, those intending to use the Pineapple or Rag-joint sprocket mount will probably find their spokes loosening up sooner. I'd have the rear wheel looked at by a wheel builder to see if they can be trued and tensioned better than from the factory.

I suspect that with the pressed steel hubs this bike uses, rebuilding with a better quality wheel would the best answer.

I only got 10-20 miles on it the wheels feel pretty thick on this bike i got up too 38Mph on this bike already with brake in fuel you could put some 29ers on it but there expensive af compared to 26 tires. Build quality is superb for the price remind you i true my wheels myself when i get them out of the box to 1 to 2 millimeter

yeah, too it seems I had more spoke issues with my 700c too than ppl with almost any 26". even I've gotten better rims twice. Im tall so 26s just seem too small when sitting and using pedals. it's sad bcs there's so much available for them compared to 700c's 27.5 and 29" in forks wheels and tires
