Hi all. I've been browsing your forums for a while and decided I'd go ahead and join, as you all seem pretty down to earth, and knowledgeable about motorized bicycles.
I have never successfully mated an engine and prefab bicycle frame before, and have some serious interest in doing so.
I have however, built what might be considered a bicycle/motorcycle, and am currently scouring the web, trying to find other gear heads such as myself that enjoy building motorized vehicles from scratch. If anyone here has done anything similar, or knows of any forums related to this, a point in the right direction would be MOST appreciated!
Here is a picture of the monstrosity I built about 2 years ago, before I had any concept of engineering (or good welding for that matter). Used an 11HP Honda engine I removed from a pressure washer with a burnt pump, the front end off a cheap Mongoose MTB I had, and a bunch of scrap iron.
It is capable of around 49 MPH as per a friendly cop that happened to stop me while riding around my neighborhood one day.
Bike Picture
Once again, thanks for allowing me to be a part of the community, and I hope to be able to contribute more in the future.
If you have any questions about the specifics of my ugly creation, feel free to ask!
Also, here is a link to a thread I have posted detailing the construction of the "bike" if anyone is interested.
