Exhaust lost exhaust cap

i just bought a new exhaust and lost the cap, it was the wider chrome exhaust not the skinny one. like this.

where can i get just the cap?

I don't know where, but if you find a place let me know, need a cap for a couple exhausts I have.

If you just bought it, and it was on eBay, I'd suggest contacting the seller, tell them it simply fell apart while riding which it obviously shouldn't have. They could opt to send a new cap, or they may suggest sending the muffler back and they will send a replacement, defective items are covered by eBay policy by being the sellers responsibility, meaning they are required to pay return shipping charges for defective items.

I wouldn't worry about it unless the noise bothers you. I don't see any power difference

if i leave the cap off and ride it will it be faster than it would be normally? how does it affect the performance?

It doesn't affect it, it's just louder, off chance could make it faster if it was previously too restrictive, but could also make it slower, a bit of restriction helps keep the new gas/air mixture in the cylinder as the port closes off, which is the idea behind expansion chambers, they help force the Escaping clean gas/air back into the chamber at just the right moment.

You'll find out soon enough that every engine is different, and each requires it's own fine tuning.

I plugged up a muffler with too many pot scrubbers, back pressure mattered...

that cap just forces the exhaust back up into body so that it will go thru the baffles to get back out thru the tube - seal off the end with most anything that you can move the tube into
