66cc/80c legal to drive in missouri?

The Rest of the Missouri Laws

http://dor.mo.gov/mvdl/drivers/faq/general.htm

"A motorized bicycle does not have to be registered with the Missouri Department of Revenue. However, you must have a valid driver license (though no motorcycle endorsement is required).

Missouri statute does not require a helmet to be worn when operating a motorized bicycle. Please contact your local law enforcement agencies for any county/municipal codes that deal with helmets and motorized bicycles.

Keep in mind that no motorized bicycle may be operated on any public thoroughfare located within this state that has been designated as part of the federal interstate highway system."

...so you need to have your automobile drivers license (which means you need to be at least 16) but you don't need to have a motorcycle license.

If you stay with the Federal Ebike Law (750 watts, Pedals, 20 mph) you should be okay if you are under 16. It's when you jump from 1hp to 3hp that you are likely to need the adult level drivers license.

Kansas and Missouri are two separate states. The border between the two is where the American Civil War started. The Kansas side was against slavery and the Missouri side was for it and they used to cross the borders and kill each other. These grisly events are now reenacted as the "Border War" between the local colleges.

I don't live in Kansas... Kansas City is on both sides of the border... I'm on the Missouri side.

The original Jesse James grew up in a house about five miles away.

Federal ebike law has NOTHING to do with driving laws, it's about manufacturing guidelines. Don't get confused

One reason motorized biking laws are under scrutiny in many states is because of so many who are breaking or stretching the limits. By flaunting the law you place all of us who are legally riding our legal MBs at risk of losing the right to do so. If your state law says your bike engine must be under 50cc, then use an engine under 50cc, it's not a hardship, it's what MBing is all about. If you think you need a bigger engine and more speed, then buy a motorcycle. If your state's law says you must have a driver's licence to drive a MB, then wait until you have a license. That way you may be allowed to ride one when you do turn 16 and get your license, and so may the rest of us. In the meantime you can enjoy riding your bike off the streets and roads where it is legal for you to do so 'till you grow up. Quit ignoring or breaking the law, it hurts everyone of us. If we ride legally and sanely, perhaps we can keep riding. Quit screwing it up for the rest of us, d**n it!
