I've tried everything I can find on this forum. has spark, black to black, blue to blue. I'm getting gas, and the exhaust is off. Messed with the idle too. When I pedal and let out the clutch, it sounds like it is trying to spark, and as I keep pedaling it continues to make a starting engine sound, but the second I stop or slow down, it stops.

    What else can I do?

search around the board a bit for info about how the magneto rotor is supposed to sit on the crankshaft - saw one come from the factory once where it was on there backwards - also have seen a lot of CDI units that were new, but had wrong timing

OTOH, it may just be like some new motors that need to go really fast to get them to start the first couple of times, and need more or less choke to start - try it fast with different choke settings
